Air France chooses ENAC to recruit and train its cadet pilots

PubliƩ le 19 April 2018

With a need to recruit 250 pilots every year, driven by natural departures and a significant growth in Air France, Joon and Transavia's fleet and flight schedule, Air France has decided to relaunch its cadet pilot programme 8 years after its suspension. The first students will begin this summer and Air France has chosen ENAC, the French National School of Civil Aviation, to select and train its future airline pilots. Their course will be carried out over 20 months until their successfully obtain the necessary qualifications to exercise their profession. They will then join the Air France group as pilots on Airbus A320 or Boeing 737.

ENAC is the leading pilot school in Europe, recognized worldwide for its demanding selection process and the excellence of its training. For 70 years, ENAC has been training pilots for airlines around the world, including four of the world's top 10 airlines. 60 Air France cadet pilots will be trained at ENAC starting this year.

ENAC will select the students based on psychomotor and psychotechnical tests. For the chosen candidates, the training, entirely financed by Air France, will begin with 9 months of theory at the school's campus in Toulouse and will continue in specialized centres for practical training.

"Air France and ENAC have a long and fruitful collaboration for the training of the company's future pilots. By entrusting its cadets to a school of international stature and reference in the world of aviation, Air France is ensuring its pilots receive excellent training" said Olivier Dulat, EVP Flight Operations at Air France.

For Philippe Crebassa, Vice President of ENAC: "it is extremely satisfying to be Air France's privileged partner to train the next generation of pilots. We share the same values of excellence and performance that are the basis of our cooperation".
