L'ENAC est partenaire du projet VOLTA, le premier hélicoptère tout électrique conventionnel développé par la société Aquinea. L'appareil prendra prochainement son envol depuis le centre ENAC de Muret. Il s’agira du premier hélicoptère de ce type à effectuer un vol piloté. Aquinea a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec des entreprises essentiellement issues de la région toulousaine, et avec l’ENAC pour la réalisation de l’avionique ainsi que pour l’organisation des essais de vol.
