This Chair is the result of a shared desire on the part of major air transport companies and ENAC to train the future players in the transformation of the sector, and will help to meet the key challenges of reducing the climate and environmental impact of aviation.
A first in its field and launched for a period of 5 years, the chair will enable ENAC students to join a course of study specifically dedicated to environmental and societal transitions, via the introduction of a NovAero Certificate. The aim is to provide them with a solid knowledge base in the field of aviation sustainability, and to enable them to make informed decisions in their future professional missions in line with the needs and objectives of industry players. The teaching will adopt a multidisciplinary approach, combining technology, economics and society, and will be based on active and experiential teaching methods that encourage creativity, understanding of the complexity of issues and situations, group work, and critical analysis.
At the end of the 75 hours of teaching that make up this course, the students selected to join it will receive a certificate to complement their engineering diploma, attesting to their success and representing real added value in terms of experience acquired, knowledge and skills that can be used in their future professional activity.
Aimed at ENAC engineering students, the NovAero certificate focuses on two main areas:
- Aviation sustainability issues, with a theoretical approach and a holistic view of the main environmental, social and economic aspects.
- The development and implementation of decarbonisation solutions for aviation, to understand the importance of sustainability in aviation, and to develop the skills and practical knowledge needed by the industry.
The Chair will also provide input for all of ENAC's teaching on sustainable development in the field of air transport, as part of an innovative teaching approach that will benefit all of its students.
