On the 8th and 9th July, ENAC hosted the « Real Time Simulations #1 » as part of the EUREKA project, in the ACHIL Laboratory, transversal research platform focused on Human factors.
The EUREKA SESAR3 Fast Track project aims to make Urban Air Mobility (UAM) a reality by paving the way for safe and efficient integration of Vertiports - infrastructures that support the landing and take-off of eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft – into European airspace.
During these two days, along with project partners Bluenest, Lilium, Hologarde, DSNA, Boeing Spain and Human design Group we focused on Vertiport Disruption and Emergency Management exercices, ensuring preparedness for unforeseen circumstances.
In five rooms (one per stakeholder interconnected in the exercise) we worked on five scenarios with different conditions integrating aircraft, UAVs and eVTOLs in the airspace with new procedures, tools and guidelines. Such exercises are essential for the safety, efficiency, and reliability of vertiport operations.
