On July 25th, 2025, ENAC hosted the graduation ceremony for the final class of air traffic controller (ATCO) trainees from EUROCONTROL MUAC (Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre).

Eight trainees successfully completed this demanding training, marking the end of a remarkable collaboration. Since 2015, 167 MUAC students have been trained at ENAC. This 10-year collaboration has enabled the vast majority of them to join MUAC’s operational teams, alongside the centre’s 310 controllers.

Over the years, this partnership has been enriched by strong, meaningful exchanges—both professional and human. ENAC has delivered one of the world’s most advanced ATCO training programmes, while also learning a great deal from an operational centre constantly striving innovation and optimisation.

This trusting, demanding and stimulating relationship has helped us grow together. Thanks to this partnership, European airspace is now safer and more efficient. The duration of MUAC controller training has been significantly reduced. A fine example of European cooperation in service of aviation excellence.

Our sincere thanks to the teams at ENAC and Eurocontrol MUAC for their unwavering dedication.

This final class marks the end of a chapter, but the bonds created will endure. A shared success and a model of mutually beneficial collaboration.
