On May 27, the TRUSTY consortium gathered at ENAC premises for a productive face-to-face meeting to align on key outcomes and plan how to bring research results to the broader aviation and ATM community.
A strategic agenda for the meeting included a workshop on key results, a session to consolidate guidelines and best practices, and a Communication, Dissemination & Exploitation (CDE) workshop.
What is TRUSTY?
TRUSTY (Trustworthy Intelligent System for Remote Digital Tower) is a SESAR Joint Undertaking research project exploring how Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) interact with, and trust, explainable AI systems in Remote Digital Tower (RDT) environments. At the heart of TRUSTY: Trust and transparency in AI-based tools used by ATCOs, ensuring distance is no longer a limitation in how or where controllers operate.
ENAC's role
ENAC plays a central role in the TRUSTY project by hosting and conducting simulations on the ACHIL simulation platform, leading research and validation of AI-based solutions for remote towers, gathering user feedback and analyzing trust dynamics to refine AI transparency and explainability.
The consortium: Mälardalen University | ENAC | Sapienza Università di Roma | Deep Blue
