From May 13 to 15, 2025, ENAC will participate in Airspace World 2025 in Lisbon, alongside France Aviation Civile Services and the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC).

We were happy to see ASTAIR (Auto-Steer Taxi at Airport) the SESAR exploratory research project led by ENAC, represented at the Fly AI Forum 2025, held on 22–23 April at EUROCONTROL Headquarters in Brussels.

Last Thursday, Thierry De Basquiat, Director of the DFPV, signed an agreement with the Chinese national airline Air China for the flight training of its future pilots. This 3-year agreement marks a major step forward in international cooperation in the field of aviation training.

TRUSTY (Trustworthy Intelligent System for Remote Digital Tower) is a research SESAR project aiming to understand how air traffic controllers (ATCOs) interact with, and trust, explainable AI systems in remote digital tower environments.

Air traffic is much more than just aircraft moving through the sky. It encompasses all aircraft in flight and those operating on the ground, on the maneuvering area of an aerodrome (the part used for takeoffs, landings and aircraft movement on the surface, excluding parking areas).

On April 1st, ENAC participated in the SIGN-AIR hybrid Technical Review Meeting, bringing together experts from air and public transport, data engineering, standardisation, and regulation. The meeting focused on assessing overall project progress, reviewing the solution, and discussing key areas such as deliverables, risks, standardisation, regulatory topics, past activities, and communication strategies. The session concluded with project recommendations and future directions.

Air Traffic Controllers' Digital Assistant (ATC-DA) for Conflict Resolution
Advancing AI Support for ATCOs Following the dry run session in real conditions held beginning of the month, ENAC and Airbus Defense and Space conducted the first real time validation session from March 24th to 28th as part of the JARVIS project. This session builds upon the dry run by further assessing AI’s potential in conflict resolution and its integration into ATCO operating methods.

On March 17-18, ENAC representatives participated in the PRIAM General Assembly and Stakeholder Workshop in Brussels. This was a great opportunity to exchange with key stakeholders and refine the project’s approach to integrated air mobility (IAM) in multimodal transport networks.

On February 20-21, ENAC representatives attended the ATMACA-SESAR Project Meeting and Project Management Board (PMB) at Turkish Airlines Headquarters in Istanbul. The event provided an opportunity to present the concept details and expected benefits to the SESAR Joint Undertaking representatives.
